A CAMPING WE WILL GO.

In March, we went camping near Lawton, Oklahoma at the Wichita Mountains Wildlife Refuge. Austin June stayed with my sister, and we slept under the stars. It was short, but fresh air, a few good hikes, and a little time on the road with stereo turned up was just what we needed.

DIY WOODEN SPOOL DRAWER PULLS

Adding colorful hardware is an easy way to add some character or a little bit of your own personality to a piece of furniture, to spice up something plain, or to tie in to your existing decor and color pallet.  There are lot great options (Restoration hardware, Anthropologie, UO, Hobby Lobby  and World Market - all have a pretty good selection and great sales).  But what about something custom, a little more personal?  I will teach you how to make your own custom drawer pulls.

GO OUTSIDE.

One of my [many] resolutions this year is to spend more time outdoors. It does not have to be far away, up high, or by the sea - just outside.

The Trinity River Audubon Center is actually a reclaimed and fully restored landfill in southeastern Dallas (part of the Great Trinity Forest). The project reclaimed 120 acres of the Great Trinity River Corridor.  The landfill site had 1.5 million tons of illegally dumped construction debris over a 15 year period, and was restored to blackland prairie hills, grasses and ponds. This now infamous photo was taken at the TRAC only a few years ago. Pretty amazing, huh?
